A SPECIAL VIDEO: Sheriff's Department honors Massachusetts' POW-MIA Recognition Day in virtual ceremony

National POW-MIA Recognition Day

Our Department is very proud to be home to the only monument in the state dedicated to the brave Massachusetts Vietnam War POW-MIAs. Each year, we come together on National POW-MIA Recognition Day to read their names aloud and present the Missing Man Table.

We could not let COVID halt this remembrance.

With the help of many of our employees and Gov. Charlie Baker, we have put together a powerful and moving ceremonial video to honor these men and their families. This video will also be available on local cable stations in some 300,000 households from Springfield to Boston and from Gloucester to the Cape.

We hope you will take some time to view the video and remember these men and their families. Please consider sharing it with others on your social media to help spread the word that these men are not forgotten. #YouAreNotForgotten #NationalPOWMIARecognitionDay
