ESSEX COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT REPRESENTED AT NATIONAL SHERIFF'S CONFERENCE...Sheriff Kevin Coppinger and Special Sheriff William Gerke attended the 2018 Major County Sheriffs’ Association Winter Conference in Washington, D.C. this week. An impressive list of guest speakers, including U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions, FBI Director Christopher Wray, and DEA Administrator Robert Patterson, led informative discussions on critical law enforcement and criminal justice topics such as the national opiate epidemic, Homeland Security initiatives, and ensuring the safety and security of correctional institutions.
