Friends & Family Video Visits: Registration opens Dec. 4 with first video visits to begin Dec. 8

New service available to help connect loved ones with those incarcerated at our facilities

The Essex County Sheriff’s Department is launching its Friends & Family Video Visits service to connect loved ones with incarcerated persons at each of our facilities via video.

Registration for this service begins Friday, Dec. 4. Video visits will begin Tuesday, Dec. 8.

There is a one-time registration process to complete before scheduling your first visit. This registration requires a valid email address and a government-issued ID. For instructions on how to register, please click here.

The registration will take 24 hours to be approved. You will be notified by e-mail that your registration has been approved.

Once approved, users may schedule their visits by clicking here. Each visit is a maximum of 20 minutes and carries a charge of $5 plus tax. A debit or credit card is required to schedule a visit. Visits may be scheduled seven days a week from 8:15 a.m. to 9:05 p.m.
