Middleton Jail & House of Correction

The Middleton Jail and House of Correction in Middleton, Massachusetts is a medium-security facility operated by the Essex County Sheriff’s Department. Opened in 1991, it houses both sentenced individuals and those held pretrial from across Essex County. The jail includes multiple secure housing units, intake and medical services, and inmate work opportunities. In addition to custody, it provides educational programs, substance-use treatment, and reentry services aimed at supporting rehabilitation.
