SHERIFF COPPINGER AND MA SHERIFF’S ASSOCIATION COORDINATE

ESSEX COUNTY ASSISTANCE TO HURRICANE IRMA VICTIMS IN FLORIDA

The Essex County Sheriff’s Department is participating in the Massachusetts Sheriff’s Hurricane Relief Initiate to send needed supplies to victims of Hurricane Irma in Florida. Sheriff Kevin F. Coppinger has set up a donation drop off area at the ECSD Headquarters in Middleton for non-perishable household items. “The people of Florida are dealing with extraordinary circumstances. They need our assistance now. We want to show our support by sending urgently needed items to help them recover from this natural disaster,” said Sheriff Coppinger.

Sheriff Coppinger is reaching out to local Police and Fire Departments throughout Essex County to encourage their community’s participation and to provide a county drop-off center to them. Needed items include: cases of water, baby formula, diapers, bleach, cleaning supplies, school supplies, garbage bags, batteries, gloves, can openers, flashlights, toothpaste, and toilet paper. Non-perishable items will be collected at the Essex County Sheriff’s Department Headquarters at 20 Manning Avenue in Middleton 6am-3pm weekdays through Friday, October 6, 2017. Donated supplies will then be transported in collaboration with The Massachusetts Sheriff Association to Florida.
