In-person visits suspended at all ECSD facilities as of SUNDAY, DEC. 6

Due to increasing presence of COVID-19 in our Essex County communities, we will be suspending in-person visits for family and friends at all of our facilities as of SUNDAY, DEC. 6. Attorneys may still meet with their clients at our facilities.

The decision to suspend visitation was a difficult one with the holidays approaching, but we felt it was a necessary one for the safety of our incarcerated population as well as our employees.

We have launched our Friends & Family Video Visits service to allow families to visit with loved ones via video. There is a one-time registration process which is now open. Video Visits will begin TUESDAY, DEC. 8.
